1 year of the Milbury Model Company
Today (Monday 2nd December) marks exactly 1 year since we officially launched the Milbury Model Company!
To celebrate the moment, here is a run through of our first year of supplying models to our customer base both at home and abroad:
With our official supply of the Wilesco range beginning towards the start of 2023, our dedicated website went live on 1st December 2023 and was followed by a launch day (coinciding with the Berrybrook Christmas Open Day) on Saturday 2nd December 2023.
Since then, we have set about bringing new product ranges into the shop with the introduction of Oxford Diecast, Bix, Jensen, ROKR and, most recently, Eitech. We have also been busy sourcing a range of aftermarket spares and accessories for some of our more sought-after brands, such as Mamod.
The journey has certainly not been without its challenges along the way! Most model steam engine collectors will likely have now heard about ‘the fuel situation’ which affected the hobby earlier in the year. We were proud to be at the forefront of sourcing, testing and finalising solutions for both Mamod and Wilesco steam engines. Since then, we have also been faced with the sad news of Mamod’s closure – a shock to collectors around the world.
Despite these challenges, we have thoroughly enjoyed the past 12 months of trading and look forward to continuing to source and add new ranges to our website. We are very excited to see what the future holds and would like to thank our growing customer base for their continued support in our business!
